New baby in the family

sawyer-in-hospital-013-smaller.jpgOur second grandchild has arrived a little early. He wasn’t due until February 27 but decided to arrive on the 8th instead. His namesawyer-in-hospital-015-smaller.jpg is Sawyer Todd Thornton, born to our oldest son Brady and his wife Elizabeth in Lexington Ky. Sawyer is Sharon’s maiden name. Todd is Brady’s middle name.

Due to Sawyer deciding to rotate to the breach position a C section delivery was performed on Friday morning. He weighed in at 7 pounds and 19 inches long. After a somewhat rough first, post-surgery day mother is recovering very well. We brought them home from the hospital this morning, Monday, and life will never be the same again for Brady and Elizabeth. The humorous part is, they don’t have any idea how different life will be from this day forward. I’m just wondering if I should tell them or sawyer-in-hospital-017.jpglet them discover it on their own.

It will at least be a little while before the full load hits them. Sharon and I are staying with them a few days to help carry some of the weight. We are taking care of all the food and house work. Their only responsibility is to practice being new parents. Of course, we are all too willing to give them some direction if they seem to be missing it. Just pray that we won’t say too much.

I thought you would like to see a few pictures. Even if you wouldn’t, here they are.

Got to run. Have to go do some grocery shopping and change the laundry around.

This is a link to a photo gallery our son Brady put together. It even includes a picture of Sharon and me with Audrey, our other grandchild.

  1. CONGRATULATIONS…again. What better joy than to be grandparents…to love and hold…and give right back. I know you are enjoying your new little bundle of boy and glad to hear everyone is doing well.

I hope you can keep your mouths shut because as YOU KNOW, it won’t make a difference anyways. They are going to find out on their own. My best recommendation from a mother of 4 boys, though, is Baby Wise I & II.

  2. Congrats, Steve and Sharon! You two are on a roll….two grandchildren in less than a year! Blessings to you and your family!

  3. Congratulations! He is adorable and everyone looks like they are doing well – such a blessing! Glad you were able to be there for the big event. Take care!

  4. Congratulations, you two must be so happy! We’re praying for your family and look forward to seeing you when you get back. What an adorable name too. Thanks for sharing!

  5. Hi Steve and Sharon. Congarts on your family’s newest addition. Babys are the most wonderful blessing in the world. Many prayers and warm wishes to you and the proud parents. God bless.
